Date Time Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Cushnie A woman has died following a two vehicle traffic crash in the South Burnett region earlier today. Preliminary investigations indicate around 11.50am, a dual cab utility and a hatchback collided at the intersection of Chinchilla Wondai Road and Cushnie Road in Cushnie. The front passenger of the hatchback, a 22-year-old Murgon woman, died at the scene. The driver of the hatchback, a 23-year-old Murgon woman, and a 22-year-old Surfers Paradise man were treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. The driver and soul occupant of the dual cab, a 24-year-old Nikenbah woman, was taken Kingaroy Hospital for observation. ....

Premium Content Subscriber only A FENCE builder subject to strong warnings in two states has started a new bail application in Ipswich Magistrates Court so he can fight $30,000 in fraud charges. Matthew Geoffrey Rixon, 36, from Southport, is charged with 11 fraud related offences in Queensland. The court heard he was willing to wear a GPS tracking device and restrict himself to the Southport area if allowed bail. He also agreed to have no involvement in construction or fence building. Although only limited details were given during his part-heard bail application, Rixon is accused of committing frauds involving about $30,000 as a result of being contracted to build fences in various regions of Queensland. ....
