FARGO A pedestrian bridge scaling Second Street North and the floodwall in downtown Fargo that has been discussed since the 1980s is looking like a reality.
Fargo s City Commission on Monday night, April 5, accepted a $2.4 million federal urban grant from the state Department of Transportation for the project planned to be built next to city hall, providing better access to the Red River and adjoining biking and walking trails. ....

FARGO A massive new downtown Fargo water tower that would replace three smaller ones had its bids rejected earlier this week by the Fargo City Commission after coming in higher than expected.
The estimate for the 130-foot, 2.5-million-gallon tower at the corner of Seventh Avenue North and 11th Street on the northwest side of downtown was about $7 million, but bids were about 30%, or $1.5 million to $2 million, over what was expected. ....

FARGO With Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan homeless shelters busting at the seams, plans are underway to open another housing facility in south Moorhead.
The 45-bed temporary emergency shelter would be in a vacant building at 1015 30th Ave. S.
Fargo city commissioners unanimously approved using up to $450,000 in federal funding to lease the space, pay utilities and retrofit the building.
City Planning Director Nicole Crutchfield said she was working with Churches United in Moorhead on the project, and funding from Minnesota sources would also likely be available to help cover the costs and lower Fargo s share. ....

FARGO (KFGO) – The pandemic has had a serious impact on homeless shelters that already have issues finding room for those in need. That’s resulted in more concerns finding additional space due to increased spacing needs and extra precautions for group living.
Fargo City Planning Director Nicole Crutchfield has been working with community partners since July to come up with a plan for this winter. The answer is to rent a vacant building at 1015 30th Avenue south in Moorhead for a 45-bed shelter.
Fargo City Commissioners have approved using up to $450,000 in federal funds to lease the building. Crutchfield says the funding will also be provided by the State of Minnesota and other contributions will be sought from other sources. ....
