Black & Veatch Selected to Design Advanced Water Purificatio

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 22, 2021 /3BL Media/ – The California city of Palo Alto has selected global critical infrastructure solutions leader Black & Veatch to design an advanced water purification system (AWPS) as part of an agreement to expand water reuse in Santa Clara County.
The new AWPS will be at the city’s Regional Water Quality Control Plant (RWQCP), which treats wastewater from six communities. The AWPS will employ microfiltration (MF) or ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membrane technologies to reduce the total dissolved solids (TDS) concentration of the city’s recycled water supply.
The system is being funded under an agreement between Valley Water – provider of drinking water, flood protection and environmental stewardship to two million residents in Santa Clara County – and the cities of Palo Alto and Mountain View. Companies commit to The Climate Pledge | Plastics in Packaging

British cleaning manufacturer Delphis Eco and packaging converter Pregis have become the latest companies to sign The Climate Pledge, a global initiative founded by Amazon and Global Optimisation in 2019 that is committed to meeting the Paris Climate Agreement by 2040.
Until today, The Climate Pledge had 53 signatories across 18 industries and 12 countries. Today, 47 more signatories were announced – including Delphis Eco and Pregis – taking the total number of global signatories to 100.
Delphis Eco uses recycled plastics across all of its product range, in addition to vegetable ink for its labels so no water is used in the process. The brand also utilises plant-based sustainable and renewable cleaning products, and was the first UK manufacturer to achieve EU Ecolabel accreditation. ....

PepsiCo to boost regenerative farming to 7M acres, equal to its entire agricultural footprint

PepsiCo aims to expand its regenerative farming programs to 7 million acres by 2030, equal to roughly all the land it uses to grow potatoes, oats and other commodities for its products, the snack and beverage giant said in a statement. These efforts are estimated to lead to a net-reduction of at least 3 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions by the end of the decade.
The manufacturer of Doritos, Sun Chips and Lay s said it will expand regenerative agriculture to more than 500,000 acres of U.S. farmland by the end of this year.
Regenerative farming, which includes practices such as using cover crops and rotating which commodities are grown each year, is one of the many practices large CPGs are using to reduce their environmental footprint. ....
