M'sia among top five Asean nations in first dose percentage


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia is in the top five among Asean countries in terms of the percentage of people who have received at least their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, as of June 2.
According to the Our World in Data website, 6.48% of the population in Malaysia have received at least the first dose.
This is followed by Indonesia at 6.13%.
In the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam, the number of people who have received at least the first dose is still below 4%.
The site noted that Singapore is top at 38.99% as of June 2, followed by Cambodia (15.94% as of June 2), Brunei (9.52% as of May 29) and Laos (9.14% as of June 1). ....

KUALA LUMPUR (June 1): A total of 95,420 vaccine doses were administered throughout the nation yesterday, according to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba. 
In a Twitter post today, the health minister said, based on data prepared by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF), 66,997 individuals received their first dose, while another 28,423 received their second dose yesterday. 
Cumulatively, Malaysia has administered 3.01 million doses since the start of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme on Feb 24. 
Out of the three million doses, 1.93 million individuals have received at least their first dose, while 1.08 millions have completed their vaccination with two doses. ....

KUALA LUMPUR (May 31): A total of 61,461 vaccine daily doses were administered throughout Malaysia yesterday, according to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba’s Twitter post today. The figure is down 43% from 107,340 recorded on May 27, when Malaysia hit more than 100,000 doses for the first time. However, after that milestone, vaccination numbers fell to the 60,000 to 70,000 range in the next few days.
Based on data prepared by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) today, 38,524 individuals have received their first dose while another 22,937 have received their second dose on May 30. ....

HAVE you registered for the Covid-19 vaccine? That is the question all Malaysians have been asked on a daily basis since the government launched the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme on Feb 24. The multi-channel marketing blitz which covers radio, TV, mainstream media as well as social media aims to educate and encourage all Malaysians to sign up for vaccinations.
On the first day of the campaign itself, more than half-a-million people registered via the MySejahtera app. As at April 19, 9.05 million Malaysians had registered. Very few, however, have received notifications of scheduled appointments.
According to Our World in Data, only 451,237 people had been fully vaccinated as at April 19, the majority of whom are frontliners. Another 275,174 people have received at least one dose, bringing the total to about 1.2 million doses administered. (The Pfizer vaccine requires two doses per person for full vaccination). That translates into little over 2% of total Malay ....
