The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to Facebook and WhatsApp and sought their response on a plea challenging WhatsApp s latest privacy policy which was introduced in January this year in India. A Bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde observed that people s privacy must be protected in view of the allegation that users data was being shared with other companies.Â
There is a concern that circuit of messages is revealed by WhatsApp, the apex court observed.
The Bench further said that citizens have great apprehension about loss of their privacy and they think that their data and chats being shared with others and it has to be looked into. ....

Delhi High Court On WhatsApp Policy, Says "It's Voluntary, Use Some Other App If Problem With Its Privacy Policy"

The Delhi High Court on Monday said accepting the new privacy policy of social messaging app WhatsApp was a voluntary thing and one can choose not to use or join that platform if one did not agree with its terms and conditions.
It is a private app. Don t join it. It is a voluntary thing, don t accept it. Use some other app, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva said to the petitioner, a lawyer, who has challenged WhatsApp s new privacy policy which was slated to come into effect in February but has been deferred till May. ....
