26,000 Gallons Of LA Sewage Hit Long Beach

All swimming areas in Long Beach, west of Belmont Pier, are closed after a sewage spill contaminated the water.
The state says the spill was caused by construction work on a sewer line in Los Angeles.about 26,000 gallons of sewage made its way into the Los Angeles River, before flowing out to the ocean.
Teams from the city of Long Beach are monitoring the water quality along the affected beaches, which will reopen when the water quality meets state standards.

Films.Dance Continues With MATCH Featuring 46 Dancers From 20 Countries


Films.Dance, a groundbreaking global film series produced by and under the creative direction of LA-based Jacob Jonas The Company, and presented by two of Los Angeles foremost cultural organizations-the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts along with Chicago s Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater, continues February 15 with MATCH, the single most expansive collaboration in the 15-film series.
Match features dancers from 20 countries moving against the backdrops of their home cities across the globe, with original choreography by Emily Kikta, Jamar Robets, Oliver Starpov, Peter Walker, and Xin Ying. The score was composed by New York-based composer and producer Jay Wadley, known for his work in Charlie Kaufman s I m Thinking of Ending Things and twice featured in IndieWire s 10 Best Scores of the Year (2016, 2020). ....

In the mesmerizing, lushly shot short dance film “Kaduna,” the elegantly lanky young brothers Victory and Marvel Ebinum writhe in a dusty field and twist around each other like a double helix next to a rushing stream in their native Nigeria. The film is the first offering of Films.Dance, an ambitious global series that will debut a digital dance piece every Monday through May 3.
