Effective May 19, 2021, New York State has adopted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s May 13 “Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People” for most commercial operations and public settings.  Questions remain, however, as to how employers can implement this guidance given that it may be difficult to determine who is fully vaccinated,
1 and how to maintain different safety rules simultaneously for different populations.  The recently passed NY HERO Act, which will impose new requirements in the coming weeks, further complicates the picture for New York employers.

Never mind Aug. 1. The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend — May 29 — is the new target date for the end of nearly all remaining Covid-19 restrictions in Massachusetts.
By that date, which is more than two months ahead of the schedule announced less than three weeks ago, Massachusetts intends to lift its pandemic restrictions, though masks will still be required in certain settings like transportation, in schools, and at health care facilities.
Additionally, the state of emergency that has been in place since March 10, 2020 will be lifted on June 15, Gov. Baker announced late Monday morning. At a later press conference, Boston Mayor Kim Janey— said that Boston would follow suit and line up with the statewide schedule since Boston’s COVID-19 trends “continue to move in the right direction.”

Tulare County Health Department begins vaccinating children ages 12-15

Tulare County Health Department begins vaccinating children ages 12-15
Tulare County is now offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 12 to 15.
All children qualify for a free vaccine, regardless of health conditions or immigration status, county health officials said.
“The announcement allows our younger population to be protected and to protect their families and friends, and allows for a greater sense of normalcy for this age group,” said Tulare County Public Health Officer Dr. Karen Haught. “The pandemic has been especially hard on children, young adults, and our vulnerable populations. Taking another step toward normalcy is a critical step in public health efforts to lessen the burden that has been felt in so many ways, by so many people.”
