(1.25pm) GNS Science has downgraded tsunami warnings for New Zealand, advising the largest waves have now passed. A National Emergency Management Agency release says the threat level s now downgraded to a beach and marine threat for all areas that were previously under land and marine threat. It says all people who were evacuated can now return. The advice remains for all areas under beach and marine threat, to stay off beach and shore areas.
Doubtless Bay residents in the Far North reporting seeing a surge of water come into the harbour. The surge came!, one resident posted on social media. Over the past hour a strong surge has been flowing into Mangonui Harbour. No tsunami wave as such but more like a strong flowing river stirring up the mud and sand in the harbour. ....

COVID s impact on 2020 was a double-edged sword of opportunity and challenge, says Rimini Street CEO Seth Raven.
Rimini Street ended 2020 on a full year revenue total of $326.8 million, up 16% year-on-year, with operating income of $17.9 million, keeping it on track for its goal of hitting a $1 billion run-rate by the end of 2026. Q4 revenue was up 15.4% to $87.8 million, while the firm ended the year 2,487 active clients, up 20.6% year-on-year.
The COVID crisis has not slowed down demand for Rimini Street’s services, with more than 33,000 support cases closed across the course of 2020 as well as delivery of 89,000 tax, legal and regulatory updates across 58 countries, including more than 6,000 emergency updates related specifically to the pandemic. “For the most part, we really don’t care. [Foster] will say every once in a while, Eventually, we re just going to look normal to people,” the American Idol singer opened up about her marriage during an episode of the Informed Pregnancy Podcast.
