IATF imposes conditions on inbound foreign travelers starting Feb. 1

The conditions imposed on inbound foreign passengers and approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) will commence on February 1, 2021 amid the government’s intensified efforts to curb the spread of new coronavirus variants in the country.
“Arriving foreign nationals should have valid and existing visas at the time of entry, except for those qualified under the Balikbayan program under Republic Act No. 6768, the Act Instituting the Balikbayan Program,” Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement Friday.
Roque said inbound foreign nationals must also have a pre-booked accommodation for at least seven nights in an accredited quarantine hotel or facility. ....

Gov't loosens travel restrictions for inbound passengers

Malacanang on Friday said that the government’s task force against the coronavirus will relax travel curbs on foreigners coming from more than 30 countries that have detected cases of the more contagious British variant of the coronavirus starting Feb. 1.
Last year foreigners coming or transiting from countries with confirmed cases of the British coronavirus variant were barred from entering the country. The list, which includes the United States, China, Japan, and Australia, was expanded to more than 30 countries.
The new rules cover foreigners previously allowed to enter the country, including those holding work visas and spouses of Filipinos, Presidential Spokesman Harry L. Roque, Jr. said, adding that tourists would remain banned. ....

Travel ban on areas with COVID-19 variants to end on Jan. 31

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 29) The restriction on foreign nationals coming from 36 areas with confirmed cases of more transmissible COVID-19 variants will end on Sunday, Jan. 31, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Friday. He did not say if new travel orders will be issued after the ban lapses.
The restriction remains until January 31, 2021 and would lapse after the aforesaid date, he added.
The COVID-19 task force started to impose the travel ban on passengers coming from United Kingdom in late December to prevent the entry of new, more transmissible COVID-19 variants. It was later expanded to cover 36 jurisdictions with confirmed cases of emerging variants. ....
