Renjen said the Indian government has performed well in addressing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is India s century and I m convinced about it, the 60-year-old prominent Indian-American business leader told PTI in an interview.
I am certainly a little biased given my (Indian) heritage but I m actually convinced that this is India s century because of just the raw talent that exists in India, the number of people that comprise India, the democratic tradition that has been around for 75 years, he said.

Claire Teklitz, a rocket scientist in Florida, is among the thousands of 2020 graduating college seniors who had their commencements cancelled last year.
But now, one year after she obtained her degree in mechanical engineering, she’s getting her chance to cross the stage in front of friends and family. Her alma mater, Golden’s Colorado School of Mines, is holding in-person ceremonies for both this year’s graduating class and last year’s. Reduced fee packages and 50 per cent scholarships being offered by institutions.
Universities in the UAE are rolling out Ramadan special scholarships to students, easing the worries of many families impacted by the pandemic.
“We have reduced our entire fee packages for 2021. Keeping with the spirit of Ramadan, this has now been extended to all current and new students, said Dr James Trotter, dean and academic president of Murdoch University – Dubai.
We are also offering a 50 per cent scholarship for the first year of the undergraduate degree with academic merit-based scholarships up to 40 per cent for the second and third year. Our Global MBA course has a guaranteed 20 per cent scholarship as well. The Early Bird bursary of five per cent for the September 2021 intake will also run through all of Ramadan, he added. ....

Too many universities among causes of unemployment, says weekly

There are 777,500 unemployed graduates in the country, according to the Statistics Department. This could be because the graduates’ skills and knowledge fail to meet the demands of employers. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 11, 2021.
HAVING too many universities is one of the causes of graduate unemployment, reported Mingguan Malaysia today.
The report said Malaysia only needs 15-20 universities to cater for its population of 32 million. This includes both private and public universities.
