Chris Willis to bike across the country to raise money for public education
BGSU associate professor wants to thank K-12 teachers, administrators and staff for their resilience during COVID

Dr. Chris Willis has big plans this summer. He is going to ride his bike across the United States to raise money for public education.
Willis, associate professor in Bowling Green State University’s College of Education and Human Development, plans to traverse the Northern Tier Route by the Adventure Cycling Association, beginning in Anacortes, Washington, on June 7 and ending in Bar Harbor, Maine, on Aug. 2.
Willis’ goal is to raise $51,000 for public education  $1,000 for each of the 51 school districts he plans to stay in during his transcontinental journey that will total nearly 4,300 miles over the course of 57 days with a stop in Bowling Green on July 17. ....

Sixty years of public good with the Peace Corps
Bowling Green State University celebrates Peace Corps Week
When it comes to demonstrating a commitment to public service, one of Bowling Green State University s strongest partnerships is with the Peace Corps, which has been sending volunteers around the globe since its creation by President John F. Kennedy in 1961.
BGSU will celebrate “60 Years of Service” during Peace Corps Week, Feb. 28-March 6, highlighting the relationship between the two with a virtual reunion of volunteers.
Organized by Dr. Margaret Zoller Booth, professor in the School of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Policy, and Evan Snapp, a Paul D. Coverdell Peace Corps Fellow graduate assistant and a Master of Public Administration student, the highlight of BGSU’s celebration will be a virtual gathering at 6 p.m. March 3 of University alumni who have participated in the Peace Corps.
