Larry Niemeyer of Jefferson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) finished his career with over 2,000 career wins, making him the easy choice for MaxPreps list of the Greatest High School Softball Coaches of All-Time from Each State, but what about the other states?
MaxPreps has compiled a list of every state s greatest softball coach. The choices are not necessarily based on all-time wins or most state championships, but could be. Also, no coaches were chosen from South Dakota or Wyoming, since those states do not sanction high school softball.

Western drought may impact Lincoln County electric rates

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, has been reporting for years that the west has been in a period of sustained drought. According to NOAA this drought began in 2000, and with the exceptions of a few years, precipitation and snowpack in the areas feeding into the Colorado River have been below normal. Right now, the U.S. Drought Monitor places 60 percent of the western states under severe, extreme or exceptional drought. This situation and its impacts on electric rates was discussed at the meeting of the Board of Trustees of Lincoln County Power District No. 1 on April 13. ....

“I was like a petulant child,” recalled Alvarez, now 56, with a laugh. After months of working beneath the surface of Paris, exploring centuries-old quarries and catacombs, “I was like, I don’t want to go underground and see a bad reproduction of bad caveman art.” Nonetheless, on the appointed day, he dutifully shuffled into the dim chamber with his wife, two children and a small group of visitors. The lights clicked on, and reproductions of the magnificent 17,000-year-old paintings and engravings came into view.
“Everyone in the room, maybe 20 of us in the tour, gasps, because the artwork and this is just the reproduction of the artwork is so sophisticated,” he said. “I thought ancient people were intellectually primitive, and clearly they’re not.” ....
