Capitol buildings across the country have been on red alert in the days leading up to Wednesday s presidential inauguration, as the FBI continues to warn of armed protests and the potential for violence in the wake of an election some still believe was rigged against outgoing President Donald Trump.
Although the weekend passed largely without incident a smattering of armed protestors spotted in Ohio, Oregon, Michigan, and Texas but no one hurt or killed officials have plenty of  reasons to be wary after the storming of the nation s Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 6, which many considered a startling affront to the sanctity of American democracy.  ....

LAW ENFORCEMENT leaders outline plans to protect Pennsylvania Capitol in case of unrest

There is increased security at the Pennsylvania Capitol after a warning from the FBI about calls for armed protests at statehouses around the country.High-intensity lights were positioned around the building Friday afternoon, and police were seen patrolling the perimeter. Orange barricades are blocking multiple entrances.Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse said in a video posted on Twitter that people should expect to see a strong police presence throughout the city. Hundreds of officers will be mobilized, he said.Papenfuse said traffic will be restricted around the Capitol complex on Sunday.“The Capitol will be defended. In Madison, Wisconsin, some windows at the Capitol are boarded up. In Phoenix, there is fencing surrounding the Arizona Capitol. Multiple states have activated or are planning to activate National Guard members.
