NGC 1808 is barred spiral galaxy located in the southern constellation of Columba. It was discovered by Scottish astronomer James Dunlop from Australia, who describe it as a faint nebula . It is a barred spiral with marked similarities to our home Milky Way Galaxy. NGC 1808 is distinguished by a peculiar nucleus, an unusually warped disk, and strange flows of hydrogen gas out from the central regions. Amidst all of this, because NGC 1808 is undergoing with intense star formation activity it has been deemed a starburst galaxy. NGC 1808 is relatively close to our Milky Way, and spans in about 35,000 light-years.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - The Virginia State Police is investigating a three-vehicle crash in Spotsylvania County that left two people dead Sunday.
According to VSP, the crash happened along Route 3, near Elys Ford Road, around 6 a.m. Sunday, March 14. A 2008 Mercury Milan was driving the wrong way on Rt.3 and crashed head-on with a 2014 Mazda 3. The impact caused the Mazda to collide with a 2012 Jeep Wrangler.
The driver of the Mercury, 27-year-old J’haun G. Pendleton of Fredericksburg, died at the scene of the crash. Authorities say it is unknown if Pendleton was wearing a seat belt. ....

From the outside, the narwhal s unicorn-like tusk is a striking curiosity. On the inside, this long protruding tooth contains an entire life history of the marine mammal s migration and meals, from its first breath to its last.

Peeling back each of these growth layers, researchers have now read the rings of 10 narwhal tusks from northwest Greenland.
It is unique that a single animal in this way can contribute with a 50-year long-term series of data, says marine mammal researcher Rune Dietz from Aarhus University, Denmark. ....
