Anne Trevett presented with British Empire Medal honour

Anne Trevett received the honour during a ceremony at County Hall in Trowbridge on Monday, April 12.
The medal was presented by Sarah Rose Troughton, the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire.
Anne said: “I am pleased and honoured to be recognised in this way. Working with Safer and Supportive Salisbury and Lower Bemerton is very much a team effort, and we are pleased that we have been able to make a positive difference to local people through this difficult past twelve months.”
Anne has supported Mencap locally for 20 years and been a trustee of the charity as well as supporting the community of Lower Bemerton – organising events and supporting the St John’s Place community centre. ....

I want to touch upon the difficult subject of domestic abuse which consists of ‘any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members’.
