Motorcyclist left with serious injuries after crash A MOTORCYCLIST was left with a fractured knee and wrist after a serious crash. At around 4.30pm on December 13, a white 125cc motorbike was riding on Lower Cherwell Street towards Upper Cherwell Street in Banbury when it crashed with a grey BMW 3 Series that was pulling out of the junction of Canal Street onto Lower Cherwell Street. The biker, a 23-year-old man, was raced to hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged. The driver of the BMW stopped at the scene. Investigating officer PC Liam Calvert of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Bicester, said: “This collision occurred on a stretch of road which is usually busy at that time of day, and I believe there would have been lots of vehicles on the road. ....
Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Larry Johnson, Crime Manager for Cherwell and West Oxfordshire, said: “This is a concerning incident and as a result we are carrying out a thorough investigation following a number of lines of enquiry, and the premises and scene are being searched by special trained officers and our CSI teams. “We are keeping an open mind as to the reasons behind this incident, but at this time we do not believe there was a wider danger to the public. “Our patrols we will be stepped up in the area and members of the public will see an increased police presence whilst we conduct our enquiries. ....
