This organization consists of sheriffs and deputies in 17 states west of the Mississippi River. It has a legislative voice in Washington, D.C. and deals with a variety of issues including legislative, detention and border issues, as well as issues that affect the office of sheriff.
I am honored to have been elected to the executive board several years ago, Dutton said. I believe that I am the fourth sheriff from Montana to serve as president for this organization. ....

• The City of Rainsville annual spring cleanup begins Friday, May 28 through Wednesday, June 30, 2021. The city will have roll-off dumpsters placed behind the city shop for residents served by the City of Rainsville Sanitation Department to utilize free of charge. Proof of services via a sanitation bill is required and the dumpster will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. If you have any questions contact the Rainsville City Hall at 256-638-6331.
• The American Cruisers Chapter 49 its hosting its Captain Jack Memorial Run on May 8, rain or shine. Cost is $20 per bike, $10 per rider and $10 for extra hand. Sign-ups start at 10 a.m. the day of. Kickstand go up at 11:30 a.m. starts from NYMD in Fort Payne and ending at the ACMC 49 clubhouse in Powell. Following the memorial run there will be a 50/50 drawing and raffle prizes, food and drinks will also be available for purchase after the ride. ....

Two Fort Harrison nurses recognized
The Montana VA Health Care System honored two nurses, who are assigned to the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center, with recent Daisy Award recognition.
The Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses recognizes individual nurses and clinical teams throughout the year for their extraordinary, compassionate care. More than 4,500 health care facilities and nursing schools across the United States as well as 27 other countries participate in every year.
The two nurses being honored are:
Elizabeth “Liz” Estes, a Registered Nurse at the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center, received the nomination for her attentive care of a patient going into an operating room. During the patient’s visit, Liz was one of the RNs taking care of surgical preparation. She patiently and methodically went over all the processes with the patient and explained every step, even covering what was currently happening, what to expect and why each step was importan ....
