Sacramento, California - Sabrina Raylene Toilolo, 26, of Corning, pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to commit wire fraud for her participation in a refund‑fraud scheme, Acting U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.
In June 2020, a federal grand jury returned a 14-count superseding indictment against her and her previously charged co-defendant Johnathon Ward, charging them with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and aggravated identity theft.
According to court documents, between July 2017 and September 2019, Sabrina Toilolo, Johnathon Ward, Monica Nunes, and Talalima Toilolo conspired to defraud financial institutions using a scheme that exploited the merchant refund process used by businesses and retail establishments to refund customers for returns, reimbursements, and erroneous charges. ....

A Saskatoon teen accused of making a bogus bomb threat that closed down parts of Princeton University last fall is heading to New Jersey to face the charge.
A public information officer in Mercer County, New Jersey, confirmed Monday that a judge at an extradition hearing in Louisiana had ordered the 15-year-old boy moved to Mercer County to face a charge of second-degree false public alarm, stemming from the boy allegedly called a bomb threat in to Princeton University on Sept. 19, 2020. ....

PRINCETON, NJ A 15-year-old teen from Canada has been arrested in Louisiana for making a false bomb threat to Princeton University last fall, according to a report.
A May 3 hearing is scheduled to decide whether the teen should be sent to New Jersey to face charges, reported NJ.com.
The teen, who hasn t been named since he s a juvenile, was arrested at his grandparents house in South Vacherie, a rural community between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, according to a report from The Advocate. ....

An Edmonton police spokesperson said in an email that its cyber crimes unit became involved because of a working relationship it had already established with American law enforcement. Its U.S. counterparts reached out to the cyber crimes unit because they initially didn’t know which part of Canada was implicated in their investigation.
However, the file itself isn’t connected to Edmonton and there were no swatting incidents in Edmonton in connection with the file.
Princeton University deferred comment to the Mercer County prosecutor’s office. A public information officer for that office in New Jersey confirmed the teen is charged with one count of second-degree false public alarm for calling in a bomb threat to Princeton University. ....
