DC Pedestrians View Inaugural Lockdown With Sadness and Dismay
WASHINGTON Very few cars were seen on the streets in the center of Washington, D.C., on the morning of Jan. 17, and only a few pedestrians, runners, and bikers were around. Street and Metro rail closures, ordered in preparation for the presidential inauguration on Jan. 20, kept the city streets mostly empty.
Those who ventured out were taken aback by what they saw.

The federal lawsuit, filed in Michigan s Western District, was brought by a group representing more than 400 nonpublic schools across the state, as well as three Catholic high schools and 11 parents. The state health department lengthened the restriction by 12 days, through Dec. 20. It took effect Nov.

Michigan Catholic schools say forced closure is unconstitutional, file lawsuit | News Headlines

December 15, 2020
CWN Editor s Note: The state’s latest order inhibits the faith formation of students and violates their constitutional right to practice religion while leaving open secular businesses where transmission of COVID-19 is more likely to occur,” said Brian Broderick, executive direction of the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools. “While faith is integrated into curriculum, physical presence at a faith-based school allows for additional, unique integration beyond classroom instruction.”
