Pleasanton residents, businesses and officials continue to offer their help and support to friends and relatives of a man who disappeared earlier this month at Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park, after the official search effort was drastically scaled back several weeks ago.
Several weeks have passed since Philip Kreycik, 37, was last seen around 10:45 a.m. on July 10 at the Moller Ranch staging area, where the ultramarathon runner parked his car before presumably going for an hour-long run on the ridge. After not hearing from him, Kreycik s wife, Jen Yao called the police around 2 p.m. ....

Volunteers Continue Search for California Dad and Ultra Marathon Runner Philip Kreycik, Now a Missing Person

Philip Kreycik, 37, went missing about 11 a.m. Saturday in the the Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park in East Bay. Kreycik came to the park to complete an 8-mile run and parked his car at the Moller Trail staging area.
A California father of two and ultra marathon runner went out for what was supposed to be a quick morning run in the Pleasanton hills and never returned, leading a widespread search-and-rescue mission to bring the man home.
Philip Kreycik, 37, went missing about 11 a.m. Saturday in the the Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park in East Bay. Kreycik came to the park to complete an 8-mile run and parked his car at the Moller Trail staging area. Kreycik s wallet and phone were in his car, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. ....

Black History Month in 2021

A screening of the documentary Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools is set for next Wednesday (Feb. 24). According to the library s website, the film takes a close look at the educational, judicial and societal disparities facing Black girls.
Throughout the entire month, the library is also offering a Black Lives Matter sign-making activity for youth and teens.
We re definitely going to be doing more programs for racial justice and Black history throughout the year, Sevilla said. Equity and diversity and inclusion is something that the library is committed to year-round, so that s something that s definitely on the horizon. ....
