Crestview Schools Select New Superintendent | Fox Sports 1340 WNCO

– Crestview Local Schools is announcing a new face to lead the district as superintendent. James M. Grubbs Jr., who has served at Galion City Schools as superintendent and is finishing a one-year contract as Interim Superintendent for Tiffin City Schools, was chosen during a regular board meeting on Monday, May 17th. He was chosen from a strong field of 22 candidates of which 7 were interviewed by the school board. MOESC Superintendent Kevin D. Kimmel assisted the district in their search for the new superintendent.
Grubbs starts a two-year contract as superintendent on August 1st, 2021. He officially replaces Randy Dunlap, who is leaving to take a superintendent position with Blanchester Local Schools, a district in Southwestern Ohio. Dunlap has been serving Crestview since 2014. ....

WILMINGTON – Six more graduates of the You-Turn Recovery Docket will be recognized at the upcoming ceremony of the specialized drug program which is a component of Clinton County Common Pleas Court.
The event will be Thursday, May 27 at 7 p.m. at the Elevation Church, 107 Eagle-Martin Drive, Blanchester, according to Clinton County Common Pleas Court Judge John W. “Tim” Rudduck.
Judge Rudduck, who established the court in 2014, said this will increase the number of graduates from the docket to 37. Graduates have completed rigorous requirements of the minimum 18-month substance use recovery program. ....

WILMINGTON A Blanchester man found guilty of kidnapping his neighbor and placing her in a pit in 2017 has been granted a release from prison pending a retrial.
Dennis Dunn, 49, was granted a $10,000 signature recognizance bond by Clinton County Common Pleas Judge John W. “Tim” Rudduck while awaiting a new trial date.
This comes after the court agreed to relieve Dunn’s previous attorney, James Hartke, of his duties and have evidence in the trial stricken from the record in February.
Court documents indicated Hartke did not provide proper access of evidence to the prosecution. ....

The Blanchester man convicted of kidnapping his neighbor and holding her in a grave-like pit has been released from prison as he awaits a new trial.
Dennis Dunn was found guilty of kidnapping Jennifer Elliott and sentenced in 2019 to seven years in prison by Judge Tim Rudduck. Now, that same judge is granting Dunn a new trial.
Joe Medici, deputy director of Trial Services for the Ohio Public Defender, stated in their post-conviction petition, that Dunn s trial attorney failed to investigate or properly use evidence that showed his innocence.
We presented that evidence to the court during a hearing in February and ultimately, the court agreed that Mr. Dunn was entitled to a new trial, Medici said. ....

DON’S HOME. DUNN’S HOME. NO LONGER A STATE PRISON INMATE. IT IS TERRIFYING TO BE HONEST. THE SAME JUDGE WHO CONVICTED HIM OF KIDNAPPING AND ABDUCTION HAS RULED THAT HIS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS WERE VIOLATED AT TRIAL BECAUSE HE HAD INEFFECTIVE COUNSEL. THE JUDGE ORDERED A NEW TRIAL AND RELEASED HIM FROM PRISON, THAT DECISION NOT SITTING WELL WITH NEIGHBORS WHO LIVE ON BLANCHESTER CENTRAL AVENUE AS HE STILL OWNS THIS HOME. MY CONCERN IS THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE AND THE KIDS WHO RUN ON THE STREET, THEY PLAY, THEY ARE ALWAYS OUTSIDE. THERE ARE AT LEAST 15 KIDS A DAY ON THE STREET.
