On February 26, 2021, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak was joined by Michael Brown, the Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and Jeremy Aguero, principal analyst at Applied Analysis to discuss the state’s Innovation Zone proposal.
As we previously reported, Governor Sisolak first unveiled plans for Innovation Zones during his 2021 State of the State address on January 19, 2021.
At the press conference, Sisolak described the unprecedented economic impact COVID-19 has had on Nevada s tourism and gaming industries, and he described the Innovation Zones as a way to lure to the state companies that are at the forefront of groundbreaking technologies , such as blockchain, autonomous technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, wir ....

More than half the world lives in urban areas, but in Japan 92% does. This creates challenges in terms of sustainability, but Japan has found a solution: It s using the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to create new kinds of cities, smart cities.

Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town was built on the site of an old Panasonic factory. This new community is home to about 2000 people. Panasonic is testing an autonomous delivery robot in Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town, the six-year-old urban development initiative in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
The first phase of the trial focused on testing a self-driving robot on public roads, began last month and will last until the end of the year. The second phase, which will start in February 2021, will see the robot provide home deliveries to residents in the area. It aims to “test the acceptability of the new delivery service experience.” ....

Due to the pandemic this 2020, services are trying to find ways to limit human to human contact to provide safety for their customers and employees, so it wasn t surprising when shops began delivering almost anything from food to necessities right at their customer s doorsteps.
Nevertheless, Panasonic wanted to take things a step further with a self-driving robot to do deliveries.
Trials at Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town

The autonomous delivery vehicle is being tested in the Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town in Japan.
According to the Japan Times, the company has announced on Monday, December 28, that trials for the self-driving delivery robot will start in February at a residential area in the Kanagawa Prefecture. ....
