Pollstar | Lyte Makes Ticketing Deal With Mint Talent Group

By: Ryan Borba Ticketing and reservations technology platform Lyte has announced its first partnership with a talent agency, the independent and recently-formed Mint Talent Group.   Artists represented by Mint will implement the solutions Lyte offers to address touring uncertainty caused by the pandemic, creating the ability for fans to reserve tickets risk-free for events not yet on sale, according to the announcement.   The news follows Lyte closing a a Series B funding round of $38 million, the supercharging of its executive team and recent launches in Australia and New Zealand.   An initial group of 30 artists represented by Mint Talent Group are implementing Lyte’s technology across hundreds of potential shows, including Taj Mahal, Angel Haze, The Soul Rebels, Helmet, Carla Morrison, Shemekia Copeland, Mersiv, Neal Francis, Trevor Hall, Jaimoe and more.

Dozens of Artists Are Taking Reservations for Their First Post-Covid Shows Ethan Millman © Larry Hulst/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images As the live music industry’s return remains fairly nebulous amid the ongoing pandemic, Mint Talent Group a booking agency started last year by former CAA, William Morris Endeavor, and Paradigm agents is working with ticketing platform Lyte to set up a reservation system for a swath of its artists’ upcoming shows, the companies tell Rolling Stone. It marks Lyte’s first agency-wide deal. Mint represents 180 clients, including notable legacy artists such as Taj Mahal, Mavis Staples and Art Garfunkel. Thirty of those artists, including Mahal, Charlie Musselwhite and Jaimoe of the Allman Brothers Band, have already signed on to offer reservations, and Mint says it looks to bring on more artists going forward in the longer term as more of its artists show interest in getting involved.
