$4.9M to benefit more than 100 NJ historical projects


Funding for NJ historical projects
The New Jersey Historical Commission has approved nearly $4.9 million in grants for fiscal year 2022 to more than 100 historical organizations, museums, historic sites, archives, libraries, individuals and county regrant agencies across the state.
The funds will support state-based historical research, exhibits, programs and archival work and provide all 21 counties with funding for local history groups statewide, as well as go toward planning initiatives to promote best practices in diversity, equity and inclusion.

New Jersey s place in the context of the American Revolution is at least somewhat familiar to most modern-day residents, but did you know that around 300 battles or skirmishes were waged here as the colonies fought for independence from Great Britain?
Most of them are commemorated in one way or another nearly 250 years later, thanks in part to the Trenton-based Crossroads of the American Revolution Association, which promotes New Jersey s Revolutionary War sites, connecting some 200 heritage partners statewide.
