PHILIPSBURG â Historically, Philipsburg s miners were more interested in getting reach than shopping for organic produce. But today s residents, visitors, are a different breed.
An idea that emerged last spring during the pandemic is on its way to becoming permanent. But backers of the idea to share food here in Granite County say they could use a new location.

President Biden announced Monday that he will increase federal spending for extreme weather preparation by $500 million, doubling the budget of the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program to $1 billion.
The program helps communities prepare for natural disasters, including hurricanes and wildfires.
Biden also said that he had directed NASA to collect more detailed information on weather patterns.

Question of the Day
ANALYSIS/OPINION:
On May 7, 1895 126 years ago Russian physicist Alexander Stepanovich Popov publicized what many consider to be the first-ever radio receiver. The day, commemorated by some as Radio Day, changed the world for the better.

In fact, all these years after its creation, radio remains the nation’s highest reach platform and continues to be heard by 91-percent of the adult population.
