Zimbabwean Woman Murders Step Son(6),Tries To Burn Step Daughter To Death So She Inherit Hubby's House


A Zimbabwean woman has been arrested after she being accused of strangling her 6-year-old stepson to death and trying to set her 8-year-old stepdaughter on fire so that she could inherit her husband’s house.
The 24-year-old suspect identified as Alice Chikono, allegedly killed Dean Dube with her bare hands on Easter Friday and hid his body in the house.
She then allegedly locked his sister in the bedroom after switching on a stove and covering it with a blanket, apparently hoping the blanket would catch fire and set the room on fire.
Chikono allegedly fled to Harare after making a false report to the police claiming the boy was missing. However, there was a power cut soon after she left the house thereby putting her plans off rail. ....

Stepmom Faces Murder After Strangling Boy (5) Over Home Inheritance

A 24-YEAR-OLD Kwekwe woman allegedly killed her 5-year-old stepson through strangling in an incident that has shocked neighbours in her Redcliff community.
Alice Chikomo, a Torwood resident, is believed to have strangled Dean Dube with her bare hands before hiding the minor’s corpse in the house.
Chikomo, according to police sources, went on to lock the boy’s eight-year-old sister in a bedroom she also allegedly tried to set on fire.
She has since been arraigned before Kwekwe magistrate Florence Nago after she was caught in Harare to where she had fled after committing the heinous crime. ....

2 Chamisa's Councillors Jailed For Staging Anti-Mnangagwa Demo

TWO MDC Alliance councillors in Kwekwe including three party activists were Friday sentenced to four months in prison each for participating in an anti-President Emmerson Mnangagwa demonstration in the city in March this year.
The councillors are; Melody Chingarande and Washington Moyo while the activists are; the Midlands South provincial youth chairperson, Sekai Marashe, Leonard Musemwa and Rodrick Nyamushosho.
However, another party activist, Lovemore Savanhu was acquitted. The MDC Alliance is led by Nelson Chamisa and a number of councillors and MPs from the opposition party have been recalled from offices by the MDC-T interim president Thokozani Khupe for no longer being party members. ....

Two MDC Alliance activists, who lost livestock to Zanu PF supporters in the violent run-up to the 2008 presidential election rerun, were recently left disappointed after a magistrates’ court dismissed their case for lacking evidence.

Tongai Mashingire and Alwis Mashiri did not have legal representation for the better part of the case, which spanned more than a year and got closed on November 23, 2020.
However, the alleged perpetrators Zvirevo Majoni, Sunamisai Chivamba, Cosmas Mapfumo and Stephen Harudzibwi, who is now the Zanu PF councillor for ward 15 were fully represented by James Makiya of Makiya and Partners. ....
