Michelle Marchante, The Miami Herald
May 20 All state-run testing sites in Florida will close by the end of May including the sites at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines.
The sites will close by May 28, according to the schedule posted on the Florida Division of Emergency Management website. State-run testing sites in Manatee and Sarasota counties have already shut down.
Among the reasons why the test sites are closing: The division is shifting its resources to focus on vaccinations and to prepare for hurricane season, said Mike Jachles, the chairman of the Florida Association of Public Information Officers. He has helped the state with some of its testing and vaccination operations at Hard Rock Stadium and Miami Dade College North campus. ....

Florida COVID-19 vaccines, cases, deaths: Live updates for April 6

Residents as young as 16 can get COVID-19 vaccine at Regency site
The Regency Square mall site is scheduled to begin vaccinating Florida residents as young as 16 by Monday (April 5), marking the start of a new front in Northeast Florida s battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
The move forms one part of the vaccine expansion announced in late March under Gov. Ron DeSantis. On March 25, following multiple days of vaccination numbers that fell well below available supply, the governor reduced the age cutoff for vaccination to 40 for that week, with a further drop to age 18 to take effect on April 5.
That initially left some confusion about the eligibility of those age 16 and 17. However, starting Monday, residents age 16 and 17 are now confirmed eligible to start receiving COVID-19 vaccinations, and on Friday, Regency was officially announced among the sites providing those vaccinations for older teenagers. | Read more ....
