The awards were announced virtually Thursday and Friday at the 2021 New England Newspaper Convention. Enterprise photographer Alyssa Stone was honored with two first place awards. She received the top award in the portrait photo category for a picture of Brockton High School wrestling captain Naziah Armor, who was photographed up close during a December 2019 practice, with sweat dripping down his face. Stone also placed first in the spot news photo category for a picture taken during the tense demonstrations in downtown Brockton in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
