A 105-year-old woman who was one of the first Bracknell residents to receive the Covid vaccine feels distraught after being turned away for her second jab.
Margaret Schaap from Sandhurst spoke of her heartfelt thanks to the NHS when she was injected with the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine on December 22.
However yesterday (January 12), the elderly resident returned to the Waitrose Covid-19 clinic to get her second dose when she was unexpectedly turned away .
Her daughter Sue said: 3 weeks ago, Margaret (my mother), aged 105, was one of the first people in Bracknell Forest vaccinated against Covid-19. ....

Almost 1,000 people in Bracknell have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in just two days.
Bracknell s MP James Sunderland has praised the first class delivery of the vaccine as 975 coronavirus jabs were given to residents on earlier this week.
The borough s vaccine clinic went live in Waitrose HQ s Sports and Leisure Centre on December 22 with the help of Bracknell and Ascot health services.
The conservative MP thanked Waitrose, East Berkshire Clinical Commissioning Group, DHSE and NHS staff for their efforts in the delivery of the vaccine.
He said: What has been achieved here is absolutely first class. We ve got nhs staff, doctors nurses. We ve got so many people coming in for the first time having left their home in 9 months. ....

105-year-old retired teacher 'relieved' to have Covid vaccine

The Covid-19 pandemic meant she couldn t go out and enjoy her hobbies.
However having had the vaccine, Margaret hopes she will be able to attend and help volunteer again in her local community again.
She said: “I really miss attending Sandhurst and Yateley Methodist Church, The Women’s Institute and Sandhurst Gardening Club, all of which I was attending regularly before the start of the pandemic.” Accompanying Margaret to receive her vaccine, her daughter said: “It has been very difficult for mum to maintain her fitness levels over the months, even though she walks up and down the drive several times a day and potters in the garden when the weather is on side. ....

Vaccines being prepared for first Bracknell clinic in the fight back against coronavirus
PATIENTS in Bracknell have been welcomed today to the first Covid vaccine clinic set up in the town.
Bracknell and Ascot health services joined forces to launch the clinic that will provide the vaccine to help protect locals from coronavirus.
The clinic threw open its doors today at the Sports and Leisure Centre of Waitrose HQ.
The site in Willoughby Road, Bracknell, is usually used for Waitrose staff but has been out of action since the start of the pandemic.
As such, today health professionals moved in and launched the milestone clinic in the battle back against Covid-19. ....
