Where to get a walk-in COVID vaccine in Halifax
Bayers Lake and the Halifax Convention Centre are both options. Since June 29, Nova Scotia has been offering walk-in vaccination appointments to varying demographics. First, at the Convention Centre at 1650 Argyle Street in downtown Halifax, it was for first doses only. Then, second-dose walk-ins opened up to those 65 and up in early July, then 55 and up. Now anyone over 18 can go! Every day the Convention Centre has between 200 and 500 doses of vaccine available for walk-in second doses, and you’re welcome to try for one of them as long as it’s been at least 28 days since your first shot.
Phase 4 brings radical reopening on Wednesday
Dancing, unmasking, late-night bar crawling all allowed at Nova Scotia’s next COVID level.
Top doctor Robert Strang confirmed Monday that Phase 4 of the COVID reopening will begin as scheduled, July 14 at 8am. On Wednesday Nova Scotians will be allowed to meet in groups of 25 at bars and restaurants establishments that will be allowed to operate for pre-COVID hours. Dancing at the bar or on a patio will be welcomed, as long as you stick with the group you came with and keep distance from others. Retail stores and gyms can return to full capacity, and organized events outside can have 250 guests.
