Leesville City Council Recognizes Police Officer and Leesville Track Team

Monthly bills were reported as $42,148.06.
Pay requests were approved for Leesville Street Projects in the amount of $129,083.87 and Runway Safety Improvements in the amount of $39,351.20.
City Engineer Mark McCarty discussed the project of tracing city water department water valves. The cost of the equipment is about $1600/day. It was decided to commit to a one day trial to determine if enough ground is covered to be considered productive.
Mayor Allen asked about the Herring Street bridge â McCarty said the timbers were rotten and broken. It was decided the bridge needs to be replaced. McCarty was asked to investigate the cost. Vernon Parish Police Jury may be asked if they will assist. ....

Leesville City Council met at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2021. Councilman Shapkoff was absent.
A public hearing was held to obtain views on the housing and community development needs of the City of Leesville and to discuss an application for funding under the State of Louisiana FY 2022-2023 LA Community Block Grant Program. There were no public comments.
Monthly bills were presented as $31,052.78. Fiscal year financials: spending is at 80% and revenue is at 98%.
A pay request was approved in the amount of $132.94 for the 2018-2019 LCDBG Rehab of Sewer Crossings.
City Engineer Mark McCarty updated the Council that work on Parkway is slow because of recent rains. They will be gating Parkway with Fire, Police and Public Works having keys. ....

Leesville City Council met Monday, January 11, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. All members were present.
The Council voted to pay bills in the total amount of $103,731.21 for FY 2018 LCDBG Rehabilitation of Sewer Crossings and 15,070.12 for the Public Works Department â Waste Water Treatment Plant.
City Engineer Mark McCarty reported that the University Parkway project is wrapping up. It is near the end of the warranty period on the raised water tank project, they will be scheduling a one-year inspection. Centerpoint has almost finished their project replacing old gas lines.
Two resolutions were passed: one, authorizing the Mayor to sign and submit applications to the 2020-2021 Community Water Enrichment Fund and Louisiana Government Assistance Program. The second authorizes the City to make a $7500 offer for an empty lot (Parcel 0111333517) at 800 Shade Street, adjacent to the MLK Center. ....
