Ramallah, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) The Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) noted that the upcoming elections will be a pivotal step to promote unity among all Palestinian forces and strengthen democracy, the Al-Ayyam daily highlighted on Monday.
Palestine s general elections will express the will of our people, the one who will make decisions through ballots. Fatah ratified its enthusiasm and commitment to making presidential and parliamentary elections a great success, Fatah said.
According to Al-Ayyam, Fatah s Central Committee agreed to create a group to support the elections in all regions. ....

Born in the city of Hebron in 1936, growing up in Jerusalem, Abu Maizar (“Abu Hatim”) pursued university studies in Cairo. He joined the Arab Socialist Ba ath Party in 1951, then the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) in 1962. Subsequently he moved between Libya, Algeria (where he met Khalil al-Wazir “Abu Jihad” and Ernesto “Che” Guevara), France, Damascus, Lebanon, and Jordan. In Paris he oversaw the proclamation of the “Democratic State of Palestine,” before continuing to Damascus and Amman in different leadership capacities in support of the Palestinian armed struggle.
