A Lifetime On Deadline.
Sunday afternoon Moe Waldron of the Times threw an open-house farewell for the press and victory celebration for the defendant at Mom s Good Eats. Terry and Leonard Flettich, Jeff and Nina Sulzer, Jerry Cohen, Hugh and Paula Aynesworth, Mike Parks, Jim Phelan, Bill Block and his young and pregnant wife, Judy, John Mourain, Rosemary and Jud James, Doc Queeg of the UP and perhaps twenty others were there, including some of the local newspaper fellows, who were indulging in a goodly share of drunken crowing over the local editorializing. It got a bit thick after a while and I could not help commenting that although the editorials were indeed called for and appropriate, it was surprising that the papers had been able to restrain themselves for a period of two years, since they now asserted, We don t think that charges ever should have been preferred against Mr. Shaw . . . and We have had to bite our ton ....

Prosecutors dealing with rapes and sexual offences have '80% more cases since pandemic'

In magistrates’ courts, lawyers have 20 percent more cases per brief – on average about 101 – while the crown court increase is 27 percent.
She told MPs: “Our rape and serious sexual offences lawyers, so much in our thoughts at the moment and in the public’s mind, have on average 80 percent more cases per lawyer than they did at the start of the pandemic. And strain on that particular group of prosecutors, as you know, pre-dates the pandemic.”
She said there is a “real pressure” on staff, adding: “When prosecutors hold more cases, and when cases are waiting longer to be heard in the courts, there’s more strain on them, and on the defence, and on witnesses and all involved.” ....

Did Delphine Roberts See Lee Harvey Oswald in Banister's Office? (Part Two)

Mary Brengel worked for Guy Banister for a short period in 1963. In May 1967, she wrote Jim Garrison a letter offering to be interviewed about her knowledge of what went on in Banister s office. Here is her letter to Jim Garrison:
Here is my transcription (please help fill in the blanks):
Dear Mr. Garrison:
I am aware from the publication in the newspapers + his picture, with an arrow pointing to his office door, that Guy Banister may possibly figure somewhere in the case you are building.
I worked in his office from the latter part of October until about the 10th of December, 1963, during which occurred several rather strange or unexplained (to me) things (however much associated with Cubans). If you feel that anything I might tell you should help [..} I would appreciate talking with you confidentially - though naturally I would like to stay away from the limelight. ....
