Pair of Horses Found Starving in Lake County | Newsradio WTAM 1100

(Cleveland, OH) - Two horses in Lake county have been rescued by the Humane Society after they were found to be emaciated and starving.
The condition of the two freezing horses, Johnny and June was grim, as investigators received a complaint of possible animal neglect.
Agents say when the arrived, the two horses were suffering from freezing temperatures and their ribs and hip bones were visible.
The Lake county Humane Society is asking for donations from the public to help with the cost to rehabilitate the horses.
All donations made towards the two horses will be designated to the Angel fund. One hundred percent of the donations will go to Johnny and June s care. ....

IOM, Brazil Launch National Survey on Indigenous People from Venezuela

– At least 5,000 indigenous people born in Venezuela have arrived in Brazil since 2016, crossing the two countries’ borders as part of the mass movement of Venezuelan refugees and migrants sweeping the region. These people, approximately 65 per cent of whom are from the Warao ethnic group, have specific cultural traditions which must be taken into account.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) this month is partnering with Brazil’s Ministry of Citizenship, its Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights and the National Indigenous Foundation (FUNAI) to launch a comprehensive survey of the indigenous Venezuelans now living in Brazil.
This daunting undertaking will register these indigenous peoples in more than 40 different municipalities in five regions of Brazil. Preliminary data collection by IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) teams has started and will serve as a national sample pool for how the Warao and other indigenous Venezuelans now ....

Today, the Secretary of State determined that the Government of the Russian Federation has used a chemical weapon against its own nationals, in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. As a result, the following sanctions will be imposed (full or partial waivers are noted below) after the 15-day Congressional notification period:
Foreign Assistance:Termination of assistance to Russia under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, except for urgent humanitarian assistance and food or other agricultural commodities or products.
Arms Sales:Termination of (a) sales to Russia under the Arms Export Control Act of any defense articles, or defense services, and (b) licenses or other approvals for the export to Russia of any item on the United States Munitions List, except in support of commercial space cooperation following a six-month transition peri ....

KARACHI: An Indian airliner made an emergency landing at Karachi s Jinnah International Airport on Tuesday after a passenger fell sick during the flight.
The plane with flight number 6E1412, run by the IndiGo airlines, was travelling from Sharjah to the Indian city of Lucknow.
The plane had entered Pakistani airspace at around 4:00am via Iran when the passenger fell ill, said Civil Aviation Authority sources.
Once the passenger fell ill, the captain reached out to the air traffic control and asked for an emergency landing on humanitarian grounds in Karachi. ....
