BATH TOWNSHIP, Greene County Bath Township and Renergy, Inc., parent company of Dovetail Bioenergy in Bath Township, are working on a compromise on several issues and resident concerns surrounding the biodigester facility.
In emails obtained by this newspaper, County Commissioner Rick Perales has been in contact with Renergy, saying the company is “willing to discuss” ways to mitigate citizen concerns, including odor, the possibility of additional sludge lagoons, and wear and tear done to Herr Road. ....

Judge rules in favor of Renergy in zoning case

BATH TOWNSHIP, Greene County A Greene County judge has ruled in favor of Renergy and Dovetail Energy, LLC, stating the biodigester facility operated by the company is a public utility, and therefore exempt from Bath Township zoning regulations.
The decision, handed down Thursday by Greene County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Buckwalter, reverses the Bath Township Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) ruling that the biodigester, 1156 Herr Road, was in violation of the township’s zoning regulations. The decision is a win for Renergy, which operates the Dovetail facility but a loss for Bath Township and Fairborn residents, who have long opposed the biodigester due to the smell, health concerns, and environmental impacts. ....

Cars honk at protestors, who gathered at the Bath Township building Wednesday to object to a ruling declaring the Dovetail biodigester a public utility.
BATH TOWNSHIP The Bath Township trustees will move forward with an appeal of a Greene County Common Pleas Court ruling declaring the Dovetail biodigester, located in Bath Township, as a public utility. The ruling, handed down by Judge Michael Buckwalter, exempts Dovetail from township zoning regulations and would require the township to vacate notices of violation against the facility. ....
