Spartanburg: Man uses mousetrap to steal rent money from drop boxes, police say


The Spartanburg Police Department is asking for the public s help to track down a man who was caught on camera stealing rent money from drop boxes using mouse traps.Maj. Art Littlejohn said the man is responsible for three thefts, one on Sunday and two on Monday.The first one happened at the Timber Creek Apartments, at 501 Camelot Drive.The second two happened at Roland Management, at 434 Marion Avenue and at Chase Furnas and Company, at 858 John B. White Sr. Boulevard.According to Littlejohn and a police report, the man used a sticky paper mouse trap on a string at each of the locations to extract several checks and envelopes from each of the drop boxes. The man left behind the mousetrap and a blue towel at one of the locations, according to the police report.He got away with cash, checks, and money orders that were all rent payments, Littlejohn said. The Oregon Court of Appeals on Wednesday overturned the 2017 murder conviction of a teen charged with fatally stabbing a woman as she hung fliers outside a Washington County apartment complex where she was a leasing agent.
The court overturned the conviction of Jaime Tinoco-Camarena, now 24, concluding that prosecutors should not have introduced testimony about his conviction in a separate case the 2014 rape of a woman in Eugene. He remains in custody at the Oregon State Penitentiary.
In the high-profile Washington County trial, Tinoco-Camarena was accused of stabbing Nicole Laube outside a Cedar Mill apartment complex in August 2014. Tinoco-Camarena, who was 17 at the time and living with his parents across the street from the complex, wasn’t charged in the case until nearly a year after the killing, t ....

Columbia, CA – Investigators have disclosed the name of the man in a SWAT team arrest two weeks ago that involved two children and forced the evacuation of a Columbia apartment complex.
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s spokesperson Nicco Sandalin tells Clarke Broadcasting that 38-year-old William Edwin White III was arrested in the incident.
As earlier reported here, just after 6 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19
