DEPUTIES RAID ILLEGAL MARIJUANA GROW ON TWENTYNINE PALMS PROPERTY OWNED BY CATHEDRAL CITY COUNCILMEMBER'S HUSBAND


A Twentynine Palms property owned by a Cathedral City council member and her husband was raid by Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday morning. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team raided the illegal marijuana grow owned by Rita and David Lamb in the 68000 block of Winters Road about 8:30 Wednesday and seized hundreds of marijuana plants. In January, we reported that another property owned by the Lambs on Anaheim Road in Twentynine Palms was raided by deputies for having an illegal marijuana grow; deputies also seized hundreds of plants from that location. David Lamb told Z107.7 News that he sold the properties on a contract for deed, so while he technically owns the land, he claims it’s the new owners who are behind the illegal grows. Neighbors have told Z107.7 they have complained about the illegal marijuana grows on the Lambs’ property to county and law enforcement officials for years. ....

Denver Could Approve Overhaul of Marijuana Rules on 4/20


Denver City Council is considering the city s biggest overhaul of marijuana regulations since the plant was legalized commercially in the state in 2012, and there s a chance it could all go through on April 20, the date of America s unofficial pot holiday.
During the April 12 council meeting, bills proposing that Denver opt into marijuana delivery, hospitality and socially equitable licensing were all moved forward after their first hearings. The proposed ordinances, submitted by the city Department of Excise and Licenses after nearly two years of stakeholder meetings, would also allow permanent to-go windows at dispensaries a temporary business adjustment during the COVID-19 pandemic and make numerous other technical changes in city rules, as well. ....
