Denver City Council is considering the city's biggest overhaul of marijuana regulations since the plant was legalized commercially in the state in 2012, and there's a chance it could all go through on April 20, the date of America's unofficial pot holiday. During the April 12 council meeting, bills proposing that Denver opt into marijuana delivery, hospitality and socially equitable licensing were all moved forward after their first hearings. The proposed ordinances, submitted by the city Department of Excise and Licenses after nearly two years of stakeholder meetings, would also allow permanent to-go windows at dispensaries — a temporary business adjustment during the COVID-19 pandemic — and make numerous other technical changes in city rules, as well.
