Promoter of Morgantown Gun Show agrees to ban do-it-yourself gun kits at its shows, Pa. says

A week after announcing the arrests of four Philadelphia men on firearms charges following surveillance at the Morgantown Gun Show in Berks County, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Monday that the state’s largest gun show promoter has agreed to ban the sale of do-it-yourself gun kits.
Shapiro called the ban of "ghost gun" kits imposed by Breinigsville-based firearms dealer Eagle Arms at all its gun shows a significant step in curtailing the growing threat to public safety from the privately assembled firearms.
“This is a significant step,” Shapiro said, standing at a podium placarded with the words “Untrackable” and “Ghost Guns” and displaying one of the 80% ready-made receiver kits that were displayed by the hundreds at the Morgantown show.

One of the things the anti-gunners have been on a crusade about is so-called “ghost guns.” They’re alarmed that anyone can sell an incomplete receiver to someone else, who can then turn it into a functional firearm. It’s a hobby for a large number of Americans, something they do to relax and have a good time in their workshop.
Yet there’s been a huge panic in the media about ghost guns, there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of specifics of criminals using them.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office has brought charges against four Philadelphia men who are accused of purchasing kits to build and sell untraceable firearms from a gun show in Berks County.

Ghost guns investigation: 4 Philadelphia men facing charges after Morgantown Gun Show surveillances

Shapiro made the announcement Sunday at Collazo Park in Philadelphia's Fairhill section.
"Ghost guns are fueling the gun violence epidemic that takes the lives of Pennsylvanians every single day. Once these DIY homemade gun kits are in the wrong hands, in mere hours they become untraceable, fully operational firearms causing so much senseless violence," said Shapiro.
The following men are now facing charges:
Najaye Davis is being charged with six counts of illegal transfer of a firearm, one count of dealing in unlawful proceeds, one count of corrupt organizations and one count of conspiracy.
Malachi Matthews is being charged with three counts each of violation of the uniform firearms act.

PHILADELPHIA - The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office has brought charges against four Philadelphia men who are accused of purchasing kits to build and sell untraceable firearms from a gun show in Berks County.
Attorney General Josh Shapiro on Sunday said the transactions happened at the Morgantown Gun Show from Feb. 27-28. In two separate instances, suspects purchased multiple 80% receiver ready-made gun kits and returned to Philadelphia to partake in illegal gun manufacturing operations.
Ghost guns typically start as "80% receivers" that are often sold in kits without background checks. They can be easily and quickly put together, lack serial numbers so they cannot be traced, and, once fully assembled, can operate as fully functioning firearms.

The message from a nurse who recovered from Covid and got the vaccine: 'Bear down and follow the rules'

Tina Black knows the horrors of Covid-19 better than most.
The licensed practical nurse has held the hands of seven of her favorite patients who died from the virus in the Covid unit at Schoellkopf Health Center, a nursing home in Niagara Falls.
She tested positive for the virus herself in the spring, experienced terrible headaches, and had to quarantine for four weeks in her bedroom, while taking precautions to avoid infecting her 16-year-old grandson who lives with her.
"We now have a glimmer of hope," she said.
Black said she wasn't anxious about getting immunized against the virus.
"I just know I wanted something to give to stop the deaths. That was really my main concern. I didn’t want to make any more phone calls saying there is a change in condition. I didn’t want to see any more pain and suffering. Not only in the nursing home, but in the world."
