The Hawks are 3-2 on the season and were dominant last time out, beating up on North Cedar 64-8. Mid-Prairie put four in double figures in that game with Phelan Hostetler scoring 13 points, Nora Pennington and Maddie Nonnenmann each had a dozen and Myah Lugar 10. For the season, Mid-Prairie has two scoring in double figures with Nonnenmann at 13 per game and Lugar 11. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams powered through North Cedar Friday night in River Valley Conference play. The Golden Hawk girls scored an impressive 64-8 win over the visiting Knights. The Hawks scored the first 20 in a row to start the game and led 26-1 after the first quarter. They would continue to grow the lead, enacting the continuous clock midway through the second quarter and holding a 42-8 lead at the half. The Mid-Prairie defense got even better in the second half, not allowing the Knights a single point, while posting 22 of their own.
