EDWARDSVILLE Sentencing for an Alton woman who has pleaded guilty in the death of her 14-year-old daughter from diabetes is set for next week.
Amber Hampshire pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter in early October. In exchange for her plea, a count of endangering the life and health of a child was dropped. She has been free on bail since the plea was accepted.
Sentencing has been delayed several times and is now set for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 11 in the Madison County Criminal Justice Center before Circuit Judge Kyle Napp. ....

EDWARDSVILLE An Alton woman who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of her 14-year-old daughter from diabetes is set to be sentenced March 29.
Emily Hampshire, 14, died at Cardinal Glennon Hospital on Nov. 3, 2018. Her mother, Amber Hampshire, was charged in late December 2018. She was accused of willfully hiding her daughter’s diabetes and ignoring or contradicting medical advice.
The sentencing range includes probation and up to 14 years in prison, with a day off her sentence for each “good” day she serves. The hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. March 29 at the Madison County Criminal Justice Center. ....

More Vandalism in Downtown Edwardsville | Alton Daily News

There has been more vandalism reported in and near downtown Edwardsville.  This time, several tires were slashed early Wednesday morning on vehicles at the Madison County Criminal Justice Center, Juvenile Detention Center, and at Edwardsville Public Works.  Police believe it may be the same person who committed similar crimes a few weeks ago.
At that time, several tires were cut at the downtown Edwardsville Post Office parking lot and a few side streets.  This latest incident also follows graffiti that has been spray painted on a number of buildings in the downtown area in recent weeks including the Madison County Courthouse, the former Edwardsville City Hall, the Madison County Historical Society, and a few private businesses.  Police are looking at surveillance video to try to identify a suspect and believe the tire slasher from this week is most likely an adult male. ....
