Apple Inc, facing accusations from rivals that it has too much control over its App Store, on Monday outlined plans to increase user privacy and keep consumer data out of other companies’ hands, laying out features including expanded video conferencing and storing virtual government IDs on iPhones.
The changes came at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference for software developers, some of whom have started to complain about Apple’s grip over which apps can appear on its devices, as well as its 15 percent to 30 percent commissions on digital sales. ....

Former Asda’a BCW chief strategy officer Margaret Flanagan and consumer and healthcare lead Lisa King have launched Tales & Heads.
DUBAI Former Asda’a BCW chief strategy officer Margaret Flanagan and consumer and healthcare lead Lisa King have launched their own independent agency, Tales & Heads.
With a combined 40 years of experience with global agencies in London and Dubai, the duo have set up the agency to focus on “strategic, insight-driven campaigns that are rooted in great ideas and work across platforms.”
Flanagan had been at Asda’a BCW in Dubai since 2009, having previously been director for the Gulf for Four Communications. King had been with the agency since 2016, after a decade at Hill + Knowlton in London and in-house as general manager of external communication at Tui UK & Ireland, leading on P ....

Findings open new avenue of research in memory loss
Northwestern studies SuperAgers to better understand what is going right in their brains.
A new Northwestern Medicine study showed cognitive SuperAgers have resistance to the development of fibrous tangles in a brain region related to memory and which are known to be markers of Alzheimer’s disease. 
The tangles are made of the tau protein which forms structures that transport nutrients within the nerve cell. These tangles disrupt the cell’s transport system, hampering communication within the neuron and preventing nutrients from performing their particular job within the cell. The end result of tangle formation is cell death. ....
