Also on the awards-worthy indie front, A24 releases last year’s Sundance winner “Minari” on demand. Steven Yuen stars in this immigrant story with universal appeal. And if theaters are open (and safe) near you, consider catching Michelle Pfeiffer in the wickedly funny “French Exit.” ....
DANVILLE, Va. â From age 5 to age 20, Edward Ed Hairston lived through the Civil Rights Movement in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Now a small business owner on Riverside Drive, Hairston reflects on a life of entrepreneurship and forestalling prejudice in the hopes of accomplishing one immutable goal: to better the lives of those around him. Hairston was born Nov. 21, 1948, as the seventh child of eight to the late C.P. and Mary L. Hairston. The spark of entrepreneurship was ignited during his early days in Pittsylvania County Schools, when Hairston would ride the bread truck to schoolâbuying bread for a nickel and reselling it for a dime. ....
Updated on February 9, 2021 at 12:07 am NBC10 Boston Two trucks were involved in a collision on Interstate 495 in Marlboro, Massachusetts, Monday, leaving one of the drivers dead, according to police. A box truck rear-ended a tractor trailer, the Massachusetts State Police said. The driver of the box truck, a 42-year-old Chelsea man, was killed in the crash. His identity has not been released. Freedom Year will bring low-income and first-generation students from across the country to Marlboro three times a year for two weeks to meet with professors and other students in the program, to attend leadership seminars, and have access to health services. âStudents would not pay for this program as long as they are attending one of our partner high schools, and weâre actively looking for additional partner schools now,â said Chandell Stone, CEO and co-founder with Seth Andrew. ....
