BY DONS EZE We still remember former Ugandan dictator, Field Marshal Idi Amin Dada Oumee, President-for-life, who ruled Uganda with iron fist, from 1971 till 1978, when he was chased out of the country by the combined forces of Tanzanian and Ugandan soldiers? Idi Amin was a ruthless dictator. He was a man of action, and a no-nonsense man. Idi Amon was never a pretender. He always bared his mind on everything he thought about, and according to how he understood it. He had no time for niceties, or for painting of words. During Idi Amin s reign, apart from his notorious human rights abuses, the Ugandan economy was also in shambles. But none of his aides would dare relate to him the exact position of things in the country, else such a person would be fired, and possibly got eliminated. Everybody was afraid of him. ....
AVM Randhawa made Air Marshal National April 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The government Monday promoted Air Vice Marshal Hamid Rashid Randhawa, Inspector General Air Force at Air Headquarters, to the rank of Air Marshal. Air Marshal Hamid Rashid Randhawa was commissioned in PAF’s GD (P) Branch in June, 1988. He has commanded a fighter squadron, a flying wing and an operational air base. He has served as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Safety) and Personal Staff Officer to the air chief. He has also worked as Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Asghar Khan, and Additional Secretary at Ministry of Defence. He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School and National Defence University, Islamabad. He is a recipient of Tamgha-i- Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military). ....
Tuesday, 13 April 2021 - 7:53 The Duke of Edinburgh’s Funeral will take place on Saturday 17 April 2021 at 3pm in St George’s Chapel, Windsor. The Funeral Service will begin with a National Minute’s Silence at three o’clock. The service will be preceded by a ceremonial procession inside the grounds of Windsor Castle. The plans for the funeral are in line with The Duke of Edinburgh s own personal wishes, and the occasion will recognise and celebrate The Duke’s life and his more than 70 years of service to The Queen, the UK and the Commonwealth. It will be a Ceremonial Royal Funeral, the same as for Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, rather than a State Funeral – something which is generally reserved for Monarchs. The plans have been approved by The Queen and reflect appropriate Government advice. ....

Reed City s Calvin Rohde, a sophomore at Concordia University in Nebraska, performed with other music students in the 2021 Spring Honors Recital on March 30. The semiannual honor recital at Concordia showcases the vocal and instrumental talents of student musicians. Musicians are chosen to perform based on auditions judged by music department faculty.
