Movie's biggest night is officially in full swing! Although the event looks a little different this time owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, that doesn't mean it's anything short of spectacular.
It is time for the celebrities to amp up their fashion game and despite the limitations due to the health crisis, one still got to see the best of the movie industry flaunting their style on the Oscars 2021 red carpet.
Stars swapped out their cosy pyjama sets and oversized sweatpants for ensembles that are glitzy and glamourous.

Zendaya Says Backlash over 'Malcolm & Marie' Having a White Director 'Stripped Away' Her Agency

Actress Zendaya says her “agency was stripped away” following backlash over her film about a black couple,
Malcolm & Marie, which was written and directed by Sam Levinson, who is white.
The film received largely negative reviews and criticism over Levinson’s writing about two black characters, reported IndieWire. Zendaya, a producer on the movie, maintains that she was intimately involved in the script writing process. In an interview published Sunday,
the
New York Times asked Zendaya if there had been space for her and her co-star John David Washington “to collaborate and provide input on different aspects of the black experience.”

When Zendaya began production of “Malcolm & Marie,” the made-during-lockdown Netflix drama she stars in with John David Washington, she never imagined that it would spark both strong criticism and award-season buzz.

It's early in the morning in a suitably envy-inducing modernist mansion in the Hollywood hills. The cool silence of this carefully constructed monument to success and detached observation of the world below is soon shattered by the arrival of brashly self-confident film director Malcolm (John David Washington) and his beautiful but clearly bothered girlfriend Marie (Zendaya).

Only Three Actors Have Won the Oscar Without Nods From Golden Globes and SAG

All awards seasons lead to the Oscars, but for an actor or actress to stand on the Dolby Theatre stage (or as is most likely the case this year, accept the statuette virtually), the Golden Globes and SAG awards are the two most influential precursors.
The SAG Awards have existed since 1995 and quickly established themselves as a place where an actor or actress would be recognized by their peers, due to its large crossover with AMPAS voters. In the past 20 years, only three people have won an Academy Award for acting without garnering, at minimum, a nomination from both the Globes and the SAGs: Marcia Gay Harden for 2000’s “Pollock” in supporting actress (missed Globes and SAG), Christoph Waltz for 2012’s “Django Unchained” in supporting actor (missed SAG) and Regina King for 2018’s “If Beale Street Could Talk” in supporting actress (missed SAG). In the King and Waltz cases, their films were late-breakers in their respective seasons, and the lack of screeners reaching voters in time factored into their omissions.

Hungarian cinematographer Marcell Rév is a long-time collaborator of “Malcolm & Marie” writer-director Sam Levinson. The pair first worked together on Levinson’s feature debut “Assassination Nation” and continued into the hit HBO series “Euphoria.” For their latest, most intimate feat, a two-hander starring Zendaya and John David Washington as a couple confronting their turbulent relationships over the course of one night, Rév and Levinson had to scale down.
