The revolutionary Fred Hampton was murdered at the age of 21 in 1969. Hampton served as chairman of the Black Panther Party’s Illinois chapter. On death, he had this to say: “I don’t believe I’m going to die because I got a bad heart; I don’t believe I’m going to die because of lung cancer. I believe that I’m going to be able to die doing the things I was born for. I believe that I’m going to be able to die high off the people. I believe that I will be able to die as a revolutionary in the international revolutionary proletarian struggle.” Hampton and fellow Black Panther, 22-year-old Mark Clark, were murdered in a police-FBI raid on Dec. 4, 1969. One year after George Floyd's murder, faith leaders continue the call for racial reckoning

(RNS) Los Angeles pastor Stephen “Cue” Jn-Marie is quick to point out the movement for Black lives and Black Lives Matter has been going on for eight years, but he believes it was “an act of God” that transformed it last year into the largest social movement in U.S. and world history.
“Who can articulate that, but a faith leader?” he added.
For Jn-Marie, who founded the Church Without Walls in Skid Row, the Black Lives Matter movement is valid without faith leaders but, he said, clergy help “people see God’s heart for the movement.”
One year ago, the death of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer galvanized the nation and eventually much of the world into months of historic protests against police brutality and systemic racism and in support of Black lives. Clergy were often front and center in these protests and their clarion call not only to politicians but also to religious leaders sparked a racial reckoning within churches, syna ....

Desiree Andrade targets George Gascon, George Soros-funded DA after son's killing

But that isn’t how justice is meted out in Los Angeles today.
Ms. Andrade watched with disbelief and anger as Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon’s far-left criminal justice agenda, in her opinion, made sure those who committed the killing paid the smallest possible price.
“I’m disgusted. That’s the best word I can use to describe it,” she said. “I’m just disgusted at what has happened.”
She helped organize a campaign to recall Mr. Gascon, who took office in December. Ms. Andrade, with her heartbreaking story of justice denied, emerged as one of the most visible spokespeople for the recall. ....
