Dems in Congress lack 'sense of urgency' on voting rights, NAACP president says


Texas Democrats fighting against a restrictive voting bill took their case to Washington Tuesday as President Joe Biden made his push for strengthening voting rights laws nationwide. Derrick Johnson, the president and CEO of the NAACP, met with Biden along with other civil rights leaders last week to discuss voting rights. He joins Yamiche Alcindor now to weigh in on the country s ballot battle.

Vile MSNBC SMEARS Mitch McConnell: Just Like 1950s Segregationists

In today’s installment of vile personal attacks and strawman arguments by MSNBC. All In host Chris Hayes compared Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to segregationist Strom Thurmond because McConnell stated the obvious that it's already illegal to discriminate on the basis of race. 

The ludicrous comparison came during the first segment of Chris Hayes’ show in which he detailed how segregationists in the 1950s and 1960s opposed the Civil Rights Act because the 15th Amendment already made it illegal to deny the right to vote to Americans because of their race. ....

MEMPHIS, Tenn. A Mississippi Senator signed on to help write a bill giving 18-year-olds the right to buy handguns from federally licensed dealers.
Cindy Hyde-Smith is one a handful of republicans co-sponsoring the Second Amendment Mandates Equality of 2021 Act.
Her gun proposals are a stark contrast to President Biden s push for stricter gun legislation.
Hyde-Smith also introduced proposals to give gun owners $100 every year for taking gun safety and training courses.
She also wants to remove the ban on transporting short-barreled rifles. ....
