HS2: Charges against '7 Sisters' tree protest in Buckinghamshire dropped

Campaigners accused of trespassing while trying to save an oak tree have had all charges against them dropped.
The group, who dubbed themselves the 7 Sisters , were accused of stopping work in June 2020 at Poor s Piece in Steeple Claydon, Buckinghamshire.
The tree was later felled on 23 September last year to make way for the HS2 high speed rail route.
A judge said the prosecution had failed to provide evidence after almost a year and dismissed all charges against them.
The protesters had claimed the 200-year-old oak tree was home to species including bats and red kites. ....

ALMOST 20 people on Oxford police s most wanted list have been arrested in a week-long blitz.
Among the 18 arrested by officers this month were wanted on suspicion of stalking, robbery and assault.
Det Ch Insp James Senior of Oxford CID, who led the operation, said officers had managed to find a number of suspected domestic abusers.
Asked what the operation meant for abusers and victims, the senior detective told the Oxford Mail: “For perpetrators, clearly, if you’re the type of person who’s willing to commit these types of violent acts or be abusive financially or emotionally then there is a very good chance we will come into contact and we will take every action available to us to arrest you. We will take positive action. ....

Man sentenced after visiting domestic abuse victim TWO days after injunction

A man has been given a six-month suspended prison sentence after visiting the address of one of his domestic abuse victims two days after an injunction was imposed.
The anti-social behaviour injunction was in place for his involvement in domestic abuse against two victims in Aylesbury.
Przemyslaw Lazar, aged 37, of no fixed abode, was arrested on April 14 after he attended the address of one of the victims that his injunction was put in place to protect at Brooks Mews in Aylesbury.
After reports of a disturbance at an address in Brooks Mews officers attended and located Lazar hiding behind furniture in a bedroom. ....
