GROTON A family was displaced after their home was destroyed by a two-alarm fire early Sunday morning, according to fire officials.
Fire units were dispatched to a Great Brook Road home for a reported residential structure fire.
Arriving firefighters found a “well advanced fire through the roof,” according to officials with the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department. A second alarm was struck, bringing additional personnel to the scene. ....

In an effort to thank frontline healthcare workers, The Whaler’s Inn in Mystic is holding a contest to offer an elopement getaway.
The Whaler’s Inn is accepting video submissions to their contest through March 31, where they ask coupled healthcare workers to share their love story and why they should be selected for the getaway.
Over the past year, healthcare workers have been working tirelessly on the front lines, putting their lives on hold and sacrificing their time for the health and wellbeing of others, said Whaler s Inn president Amanda Arling.
