OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Jordan Kawaguchi has made history for North Dakota becoming the first Fighting Hawks player to win the NCAA senior of the year award in division one men’s hockey.
It comes after the senior captain led the team to it’s first ever frozen faceoff title and it’s second consecutive Penrose Cup tallying 36 points and taking home 1st team all-NCHC honors for the second year in a row.
The British Columbia native was the team’s leading scorer for the third straight year becoming the first to do so since Greg Johnson three decades ago.. ....

NOTRE DAME, Indiana Senior pitcher Alexis Holloway has been named one of 30 candidates for the softball Senior CLASS Award, recognizing Division I seniors with notable achievements in community, classroom, character and competition.
Holloway is off to an impressive start in 2021, owning a 0.00 ERA after opening weekend. She totaled 112 pitches (7.0 IP) and 10 strikeouts, allowing just one hit on the weekend. In 2020, she ranked second in the ACC with a 1.09 ERA. She led the ACC in fewest hit batters (three), sac. bunts per game (0.18) and saves (2) that season. She also led the Irish in 2020 with a 1.09 ERA and 83.2 IP, throwing five complete games and recording two saves. ....
